Friends of the Howlett Park take care for the park. Their activities include trash removal, bio-monitoring, invasive species removal, and native plantings. Additionally, the City Beautiful Commission and the Friends of Howlett Park group have created a plan to enhance Howlett Park significantly. The plan is entitled the Samuel Howlett Park Native Landscape Concept Plan.
