Antique Fire Truck Muster / Waterball Competition
The Rochester Fire Department hosts an annual antique fire truck muster and waterball competition on the Sunday of the Rochester Heritage Festival, which takes place over Memorial Day weekend.
The Rochester Fire Department won last year's state waterball championship. The waterball team travels all over the state competing in one of the oldest fire department-related sports.
Pancake Breakfasts
The department holds its Sunday morning pancake breakfast on the second Sunday of every January, February, and March. Pancakes, sausage, and beverages are served from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The fire station and trucks are on display during these events.
Rochester Fire Department Open House
The Rochester Fire Department holds an open house during Fire Prevention Week in October each year. The station and trucks are on display as well as fire safety demonstrations, informational videos, and vehicle extraction demonstrations.
Fire Station Tours
We enjoy visitors at our station. We also like taking our show on the road. You can arrange a tour of our station or a visit to your local event by calling the Fire Hall at 248-841-1439.
Christmas Parade
The Rochester Fire Department Clown Unit is a regular participant in the annual Rochester Christmas Parade. The Clown Unit and its accompanying group of clowns have been seen in the parade for many years. The Clown Unit has won the top clown honor for many of the past 20 years.
